United Way of Bedford County (UWBC) provides resources to health and human service agencies, reaching people from all walks of life and income groups. |

The UWBC raises funds through employee workpace campaigns, corporate giving, donations, grants, and special events like the 5k Run. Currently, 19 agencies serving Bedford County receive support from United Way of Bedford County through generous donations received from individuals in the community.

REGISTRATION & PACKET PICK-UP Packet Pick-Up/Walk-In Registration & Spaghetti Dinner Friday, October 21, 2011 5:00 – 7:00 pm Heritage Medical Center 2835 Hwy. 231 North, Shelbyville $5.00 Spaghetti Dinner (Pay at Door) -------------------------------------------------------- Spooktacular Monsters In Training (MIT) - 2011 Minimum of 10 participants to hold Spooktacular MIT Have you always wanted to try a 5k race but didn’t know where to begin? Have you run 5k races, but now want to move to a 10K? Here is your chance to join a program to have you race ready!!! United Way is offering a training series six weeks prior to the Spootacular 5K/10K that will help you prepare for the 5K or up your game and take on the 10K challenge. The program will include three (3) classes/training sessions with training guidelines, tips and suggestions. The classes will be held on the following Monday evenings from 6:30-7:30 pm followed by a group training run/walk at the Shelbyville Recreation Center, 220 Tulip Tree, Shelbyville:
The cost of the program will be $35 (5K participants) and $40 (10K Participants). The cost includes your registration for the United Way Spooktacular 5K/10K being held on October 22, your race tech shirt, and running socks sponsored by Fleet Feet. Don’t be SPOOKED…we can help!
